Pampered

Out of the blue Alyssa says. "Mommy, I need to get a haircut at the salon." Hmmm, I was super shocked. Not too long ago she was petrified stepping into a salon.Todays event was "The Daddy & ALyssa gets a hair cut Day." She watched daddy get his hair cut first then she takes her turn. She insist that she gets her hair shampooed llike daddy did. She dons a special penguin frock while she get her hair cut. Gets her hair blow dried and styled. Most especially, rewarded with the coveted lollipop for a job well done!

The Canopy goes UP!

When we moved in to our Dunmore townhome Alyssa's canopy was not put up right away. I was not so sure if she would be extra careful on not stepping  or tugging on it. But, now at almost 4 years old we're pretty good in following directions. A great big surprise happened one afternoon......and we got a little nap to test our new princess "tent".

Splish Splash

I fly solo most of the time when Austin's working a 24 hour service at a rig site. So, Alyssa and Aidan take their baths at the same time. They both LOVE IT ! Aidan discovered that splashing the water is a new phenomenon and it leads to big sister splashing back which ends up getting me a little soaked.

Choo choo

Since packing has commenced and few toys had not made it into boxes ,which I think they're getting bored with. Packing materials are the newest toy trend around the Parrott household.

Weddings! Weddings! Weddings

Next was a September Wedding for Aunt Ashley and (Uncle) Stephen In Tulsa , Oklahoma. By this time we're a pro at flying but still very exhausting. Alyssa's such a great flyer! Max & Ruby movies + Snacks = a Happy Alyssa in the plane. Aidan's newest milestone is being able to chew (gumming) solid foods, Yey, for Gerber puffs!

The wedding was held at a vineyard. Alyssa was the flower girl and this time she had such a great time throwing flower petals down the aisle. I had to convince her to grab a handfull rather than one at a time. Whew! Imagine ! Although, that would have probably made a cute funny wedding video.

Pictures will be posted as soon as Austin returns home with our external hard drive. :)

Weddings! Weddings! Weddings!

First was a July Wedding for Aunt Andrea and (Uncle )Casey in Conroe, TX. I was prepared and still nervous flying with kids. Alyssa was too excited and couldn't stop talking about seeing her family in Texas! Aidan had his bouts of crankiness, thankfully it was the last 10 minutes of the flight and the plane was getting ready to land. Overall, it was a good flight and an exhausting one.

Alyssa was the cutest little flower girl and I a bridesmaid (such an honor!).

Our Family Celebrity

During the cold winter months Alyssa and I would do crafts. Some of these crafts were found in our Family Fun Magazine Subscription. There's a section in the magazine called "My Great Idea", from there we mimic craft inventions submitted by readers. Getting some creative juices going ... out of the blue a craft  invention was made. We named it "The Roller Coaster Marble". A pipe insulation cut in half and duct taped onto the wall leading down to the floor, with one loopy-loop. Alyssa said " I'll be an architect and build buildings around it". And so she did.
I look through the magazine and read about submitting ideas and if they like it, they'll publish it. Hmmmm, "Cute, I thought" . I emailed "My Great Idea" and 3 weeks later, I get an email back and they said they liked it for their September Issue. SO -Yes! It is now September and the long awaited issue arrives!

Can I feed Aidan, Mommy?

When it came time to feed Aidan, Alyssa always asks if she can do the feeding. She's such a good big sister (and a little mommy) so this time around I said, "Yes, you may".
As you can see, Aidan Loves his meals.

Look who's standing up?

In the middle of a diaper change, I go to the kitchen to get something and this is what I find. So, I grab the camera and shoot. And oh, shoot....my kid is butt naked. It's too cute not to share. Here he is at almost 8 months old. Standing up and four beautiful pearly whites.
Look mommy, I'm standing up!

Singing in the rain

Alyssa loves the rain and dons her pink umbrella every chance she gets! If it looks like it's going to rain she'll definitely suggest that we take our umbrella's with us.

Lately, all she does is sing. She will invent the words, and boy, the words that she makes up are so funny! I get a really good laugh.

Off he goes!

Weighing at 20 lbs! Our little man  is now a full blown crawler! And the mother that I am. I have the tedious job of vacuuming and wet swiffering (yup, I invented the word). Just so that Aidan does not pick up any petrified food crumbs on the floor and choke on it . Oh, and the germies that come along with crawling on all fours. I'm a bit of a germaphobe, call you tell?

At almost 8 months old , he now has 4 new pearly whites (top and bottom). The teething, that's a whole new different story. He is sitting up on his own. Holding his own bottle. Eating stage 2 solid foods and is a peeing and pooping baby machine.

Loves loves loves his big sister ! And big sister loves loves loves little brother!
Love my little brother! Love my big sis!

Alyssa's Dentist Visit

Our little girl had her Dentist Check Up and Cleaning today. A few questions asked were... Chocolate or Strawberry? Marshmallows or Orange? What's not to like about going to the dentist? Don't forget the cutest stuff you get to bring home after the visit.

We love Miss Jane (her dental hygenist) she's so good with Alyssa! And  Alyssa was more than happy to comply. Miss Jane named the "spit sucker" Mr. Thirsty...way more appealing than what I named it :)
Dr. MacNamara (we call him Dr.Mac) said she has all her 20 primary teeth and NO CAVITIES! Yey!

And it brings us to this....

I have always loved and admired friends who remained close to me by means of Blogging. I have always contemplated on starting my own but have always been discouraged by my poor composition writing or just butchering a sentence structure. My beloved neighbor Mary Lou told me "Write the way you speak."

So~ My dear family and friends,  pardon the composition, grammar and sentence structure as this blog will be written "the way I speak".

We're currently The Pennsylvania Parrott.Far from family, this will be our means of keeping  everyone up-to-date and keeping in touch. A great way to keep a journal of our journeys as a family.
